SEEFLEX

ROCKING AND SHOCKING THE INDUSTRY

We shocked the industry by absorbing shocks like never before. Rocking, and probably even more shocking, some of the impact protection specialists out there.

SEEFLEX™ ticks all boxes when it comes to impact protection and beyond. Read all about the magic behind them and what keeps you safe and comfortable.

THE MAGIC INGREDIENT: SEEFLEX2925

You can’t make a tasty dish without the right ingredients, and the same goes for our SEEFLEX™ family of limb protectors.

It all starts with the material used, in our case, SEEFLEX2925.

This revolutionary material compound was developed in-house to provide the highest level of impact protection. That was on top of being able to perform in various temperatures or weather conditions; meaning it needed to offer stable performance in any condition between -10C and +40C, rain or shine.

COMFORT: ADAPTIVE ERGONOMICS

When we say, “highest level of protection,” it’s easy to think that these protectors come with bulk and discomfort. But you’d be wrong. Due to the combination of material and structure, the SEEFLEX™ protectors remain relatively thin. Furthermore, right where the protectors need to bend in order to let the human anatomy work in its natural way, we’ve incorporated our clever Flex hinge system.

This feature accommodates for freedom of movement without compromising safety. Adding to the comfort of your ride is the open structure that serves a dual purpose: it allows the aforementioned internal expansion that adds to the protection, but it also means you will have full ventilation. When a big part of your body is covered in impact protectors, you’ll be happy to find out that air can circulate without an issue.

DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT

Limb protectors are tested according to a specific standard, the EN1621-1:2012 standard for limb protection.

We’ll break it down for you so you know what we’re talking about, and it will give you an understanding of what our SEEFLEX™ family had to undergo in order to receive the certification that shows they offer the highest level of protection.

ENERGY TRANSMISSION TEST

In order to achieve the CE-certification protectors need to undergo the Energy Transmission Test, which measures the amount of force that is allowed to pass through the protector after impact.

In all tests the protector is placed on an anvil after which it gets hit with a drop striker weighing 5 kilograms (11lbs) that falls from approximately one meter. This to make sure the kinetic impact energy is at least 50J.

As the primary goal of a protector is to prevent energy from passing through, the lower the value of energy transmission measured the better the shock absorption of the protector.

ALL ABOUT THE A's & B's

Within the EN1621-1:2012 standard, there are two test areas; a smaller “Type A” and a bigger “Type B”.

Depending on the usage, SEEFLEX™ protectors can be approved for both while maintaining their CE-level 2 protection. This makes it possible for us to use a smaller protector, for instance, for ladies’ garments. This way the highest level of protection is also available for those who would suffer from discomfort when bigger protectors are used than needed for their anatomy.

So, in a nutshell: Type A protection is referred to be of smaller dimension; commonly (although not exclusively) optimized for use with smaller riders. Type B protection is referred to be of larger dimension; commonly (although not exclusively) optimized for use with larger riders.

AND NOW THE LEVELS...

The EN1621-1:2012 limb protection standard includes two levels of protection:

CE-LEVEL 1
The first level of protection acknowledged by CE provides the standard level of protection. This means the peak force measured at the center of the “Zone of Protection” (test area 01) shall not exceed a single strike value of 35 Kilo Newtons (kN). The single strikes in areas 02 and 03 shall not exceed a value of 50kN. On top of that, the overall mean value shall not exceed 35kN.

CE-LEVEL 2
All SEEFLEX™ limb protectors are certified as CE-level 2. They offer increased performance over CE-level 1. The peak force measured at the center of the “Zone of Protection” (test area 01) shall not exceed a single strike value of 20 Kilo Newtons (kN). The single strikes in areas 02 and 03 shall not exceed a value of 30kN. On top of that, the overall mean value shall not exceed 20kN.

FLYING COLOURS

By passing all tests described above, SEEFLEX™ protectors truly live up to the claim of exceeding the highest level of protection, ventilation, and comfort under all circumstances and in all climates.
